UP: Four infants die following measles vaccine in Lucknow

In UP,Four infants died after receiving routine immunisation during a government drive.The infants, aged nine to 12 months, died within minutes after they were injected with measles vaccine and given a dose of vitamin A. The district magistrate has ordered an ex-gratia of R50,000 to be paid to each of the affected families. |

In a recent study ,researchers reported a new gene, which was named New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase, or NDM-1.It has a high resistance to antibiotics. According to the study, in the UK, most of the patients had a history of travelling to India or Pakistan in one year, and many of them were admitted in hospitals in those countries. Over 2,000 took H1N1 vaccine on University of Pune campus. It includes hostel inmates, teaching and non-teaching employees and officers of the University of Pune. The drive will continue till September 30 and intends to cover nearly 15,000 people. The University of Pune is offering the vaccine free of cost for everyone associated with it, reports The Times Of India. |
